Study Title: Health Care Utilization among Bhutanese Refugee Adults: Exploring Culture, Access, and Needs
Study Aims: This dissertation is examining the health care utilization of Bhutanese refugee adults in Philadelphia, who are beyond the period of Refugee Medical Assistance. The purpose of this exploratory study is to understand key vulnerability factors that underlie the process of health services utilization and help-seeking. This study may be generalizable to other ethnic groups, which may allow for improved services and policies for refugees.
Study Methods: Qualitative study. In-depth interviews with 30 Bhutanese refugee community members in Philadelphia.
