Study Title: Patients’ and Provider’s Perspectives on Screening for Intimate Partner Violence among Refugee Women in Philadelphia: Issues, Needs and Challenges.
Study Aims: To explore the issues surrounding intimate partner violence screening among refugee women served by the Philadelphia Refugee Health Clinics. The project seeks to:
• Understand current practices at the clinics
• Explore perspectives of providers and multi-ethnic refugee women on screening
• Identify issues, needs and challenges associated with screening
• Offer recommendations to enhance screening (“multi-culturally friendly”)
• Disseminate findings / inform best practices guide
Study Methods: Community Based Participatory Approach: Collaboration with resettlement agencies and PRHC providers. Mixed-methods: Surveys and in-depth interviews
